Join our FREE Park Yoga sessions at Howard Palmer Gardens. This park is a small pretty park (0.8 acres) located behind the Cockpit Path car park in the centre of the town.
Please look out for the large Park Yoga flag.
When?
9.30am – 10.30am every Sunday morning from 3rd May to 13th September. Please note; there is a change of location on 14th June only to Langborough Recreation Ground.
(If parking on residential streets please ensure this is done considerately. Remember, emergency vehicles may require access).
Meet your instructor: Vicki
Vicki’s teaching combines traditional Hatha yoga with slow flow and functional movement, all delivered in a manner that everyone can enjoy – no matter what their age, experience or ability. With an emphasis on creating a warm and friendly atmosphere that people feel comfortable in, she ensures that, whichever class you choose, you leave with a sense of renewed energy and calm. Vicki also teaches children’s yoga – which she adores! – introducing children to the importance of exercise, body awareness and emotional regulation in a non-competitive and fun environment.
A few of you have asked about the Wokingham in Bloom volunteers who keep Howard Palmer Gardens looking so bloomin' beautiful 😉🌺🌻🌷 and how you can get involved supporting them. We clearly have some green fingered yogis amongst us 😊 and you're in luck, as the team that look after Howard Palmer Gardens are looking for more volunteers!
They meet in the gardens at 10am on a Saturday morning and beaver away until about 12.00/1.00, but you can stay as long as you want. Everyone is welcome and I have it on good authority that they finish with coffee and biscuits (sometimes cake!!). ... See MoreSee Less
If you've been hovering over this page thinking "Maybe next week...." make this Sunday your week!!
You don't need to be strong or flexible (just willing). You don't need fancy leggings (anything you're comfy in works). You don't need to know your Downward Dog from your Pigeon pose (all animal inspired poses will be fully explained and demonstrated 😉). You don't need a yoga mat (a towel or picnic blanket works just as well). You don't need to know anyone else who is coming (everyone is super friendly and I'd love to meet you!). All you need is yourself.
This Sunday, 09:30-10:30, Howard Palmer Gardens, RG40 2BX
Classes are free, no need to book - there's plenty of space for everyone.
You might want to bring a bottle of water and some sunscreen too, the weather is looking warm and bright.
Thank you to Wokingham Town Council for their continued support of Park Yoga Wokingham, to Yogi Tea for their Park Yoga support and to the Wokingham in Bloom volunteers who create such a beautiful space for us to enjoy 🙏
