Meet your instructor: Kerrina

HI – I’m Kerrina and I’ve been a student of yoga for the past 28 years. It’s been a constant source of support and joy throughout some of my life’s toughest moments.

My journey towards becoming a teacher began in 2000 when I took my first teacher training in viniyoga, a person-centered approach that emphasizes making poses fit the body, rather than the other way around. Over time, I’ve explored various modern styles of yoga and have gravitated towards those that feel good in my body and help me navigate life’s challenges.

I’ve continued to deepen my practice and understanding of yoga, particularly through a TTC that focused on yoga and spiritual development. This was a transformational experience for me, as I delved into the philosophy, anatomy, pranayama, and chakra system.

Recently I’ve faced personal struggles navigating perimenopause, chronic stress, and the pandemic-induced lack of community. Along with opening my yoga studio. However, the tools and practices I’ve learned through yoga have helped me continue to grow and flourish, even amidst these difficult times.

For me, yoga is about embracing both the light and dark aspects of life with curiosity and acceptance, and using the lessons learned to keep rowing my boat down the stream. And, of course, having fun along the way!
