Would you like to become a Park Yoga Volunteer?

Park Yoga is a charity whose mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of the public by providing free yoga sessions in nature. The sessions are open for all to attend, regardless of experience, age or gender.

Park Yoga works in partnership with Venue Host Organisations, (usually local Councils or Active Partnership) and Yoga Instructors to deliver the sessions which take place every Sunday morning from the beginning of May to mid-September.

Are you a Park Yoga participant and over the age of 18? Do you thrive on engaging with individuals, are you passionate about your local community and love being outside in nature?

Do you have availability Sunday mornings from 9am until 11am between the beginning of May and mid-September? Ideally to support at least 5 sessions.

If you answered YES, this could be a fantastic opportunity for you to meet new people whilst bringing joy and happiness to your local community and still be able to take part in the weekly Park Yoga sessions. We do not expect volunteers to do every session, unless, of course, they would like to.

Key Tasks:

  • Meet & greet our lovely participants, especially first timers
  • Help our Yoga Instructors set up equipment
  • Take photos and videos during the sessions
  • Collect donations using mobile phone app
  • Help with sponsor sampling
  • Distribute posters locally to advertise Park Yoga
  • Engage with local community groups in person and through social media to introduce and promote Park Yoga
  • Attend events during off season to represent Park Yoga
  • Identify potential local sponsors to support your Park Yoga venue
  • Apply for small grants to support Yoga Instructor costs
  • Engage with a local cafĂ© and host a monthly Park Yoga community meet up

Virtual drop-in sessions will be provided ahead of you starting (maximum 1 hour) and will provide an overview of the charity, safeguarding & incident reporting information and a reminder of the key tasks.

We hope to have at least 2 volunteers at each venue, and every volunteer will be asked to wear a hi-vis vest at the Sunday sessions so our participants can identify you as a person who can help.

If you love the sound of this opportunity and want to make a real difference in your community, please read our Volunteering Policy and then you can go ahead and register by completing our Volunteer Registration form and we will be in touch.
