Hello, I’m Lydia, a dedicated yoga instructor with a passion for sharing the transformative power of yoga. Through my classes, I blend the ancient wisdom of yoga philosophy with a focus on breath and alignment, creating an experience that fosters both physical strength and mental clarity. I strive to make each class challenging yet accessible, ensuring that students leave feeling more centred and aligned in both body and mind. Join me on the mat, and let’s embark on a journey of self-discovery and inner harmony together.
There’s something truly special about starting your Sunday surrounded by nature.
No mirrors. No pressure. No need to be flexible or experienced. Just fresh air, birdsong, movement, and a welcoming community.
Park Yoga is a reminder that looking after yourself doesn’t have to be complicated. One hour each week to stretch, breathe, move your body, and simply be present can make a real difference to how you feel.
Whether you’re joining for the very first time or you’ve been coming every week, know that every practice is enough. Every breath counts. Every small step towards taking care of yourself matters.
🌿 Join me every Sunday at 9:30am in Victoria Park for a free Park Yoga session. Just bring a mat or towel, wear something comfortable, and come exactly as you are.
✨ Your body will thank you. 🌿 Your mind will thank you. 💚 And you might just leave with a smile that lasts all day.
This week, let’s talk about one of yoga’s most recognisable poses: Downward Facing Dog.
It can feel challenging at first, but with a few simple adjustments, it becomes a pose that helps build strength, lengthen the body, and create space.
Here are a few helpful tips:
✨ Bend your knees as much as you need to. Straight legs aren’t the goal—a long, relaxed spine is. ✨ Spread your fingers wide and press firmly through your hands, especially through the thumb and first finger. ✨ Lift your hips up and back, imagining someone gently drawing them towards the sky. ✨ Let your head relax between your arms and soften your neck. ✨ Your heels don’t need to touch the ground. Every body is different, and that’s completely okay.
Yoga isn’t about achieving the “perfect” pose—it’s about finding what feels supportive and sustainable for your body.

🌿 Did you know…? Here are five wonderful facts about yoga! 🌿
🧘 Yoga can help reduce stress by calming the nervous system and encouraging relaxation.
💚 It isn’t about being flexible! Yoga helps you become more mobile and flexible over time, no matter where you’re starting from.
🌬️ Your breath is just as important as the poses. Conscious breathing can help lower your heart rate, improve focus, and leave you feeling calmer.
🌳 Practising outdoors has added benefits too. Being in nature can boost your mood, reduce stress, and help you feel more connected to the present moment.
😊 Yoga is for everybody. Every age, every body, every level of experience is welcome.
