Harish, 66, loves that Park Yoga’s outside as it connects him with nature and his community each Sunday
“I started Park Yoga last year after a friend of mine suggested I got into it, so I turned up and that was it, I haven’t stopped going since.
I love it, because it’s outdoors. It’s just about getting out there in the morning with the fresh air which really motivates me to get up. If it wasn’t for Park Yoga, I probably wouldn’t get out of bed until 9 o’clock myself!
I think Park Yoga is helping me mentally and physically. It’s a very friendly group, so I’ve gone past the stage of just nodding to people and I actually now stop and say hello.
I had a knee replacement 5 years ago, so although the yoga can be challenging, I know it’s really good for me to keep moving.
I’ve been encouraging everybody at work to come to Park Yoga, I’ve been in the same full-time job for 50 years now – so they’re used to me going on about it! And this year I’ve been bringing my sister and her husband, who don’t do anything else but this yoga class. I always say just come out in the morning, in the fresh air, the sunlight and cool breeze where you can listen to the birds – it’s amazing!”
Park Yoga is suitable for all physical levels and abilities, and no experience is necessary – last year 30% of our participants had never tried yoga before. There’s no need to book, just turn up with a mat (or towel or blanket) and enjoy the session. Visit our venue page to find your closest Park Yoga location.
