Meet your instructor: Michelle Sowden

I’m a Burnley born mum, a nurse, and someone who genuinely loves yoga. Although my work has taken me around the North West, I’ve never felt far from my roots, and it’s really special to be teaching yoga here in my hometown.

Yoga has been a way for me to find a bit of space in a busy life – a chance to slow down, breathe, and reset.

Teaching yoga brings me a lot of joy, and I offer a relaxed, inclusive style where people of all ages and abilities are welcome. There’s no pressure to keep up or get things “right” – just come as you are and take what you need from the practice. I’m really looking forward to sharing yoga with you in the park.

So, gosh… this week has run away with me! 🙈

Yesterday and today have been such warm days, and I know sunshine brings different things for different people.

For some it’s uplifting and joyful; for others, the heat can make motivation and everyday things feel a little harder.

It got me thinking back to last Sunday’s practice, where we really leaned into our intuition and those little internal check-ins with our body and mind—what do I need today? What feels right for me?

I hope you’ve been able to do a little of that yourselves over the last couple of days. Seek out some shade and coolness if that’s what you needed, or embrace the warmth if that’s your happy place ☀️

Mostly, I hope you’re all doing well and enjoying your week in whatever way feels right for you.

Just a little pic of me and Dave the Pomeranian , I’ll rarely compromise on a little potter , just having to choose our time wisely 🙏

Anyway , signing off for now & I can’t wait to see you on Sunday as we move into Week 16 of Park Yoga. ❤️❤️❤️

Happy Wednesday lovely yogis

Well... summer seems to have taken a little break! 🌧️

Today's cooler, greyer weather called for something different. Instead of a slow, cosy practice, I found myself choosing movement that was a little stronger, a little more energising.

One of the things I love about yoga is that it meets us where we are.

Sometimes we need to soften.
Sometimes we need to spark a little fire

I hope you’ve been able to find what you need today and join us on Sunday so we keep exploring the beauty of a yoga practice together 🙏
