Meet your instructor: Rachel
Rachel began practicing yoga around seven years ago and truly believes that not only can it benefit everyone, but it is for everyone and everybody. Whether you come for your mind your body or your spirit, you’ll find something to take away. Jigor Gor said that, “Yoga is not about touching your toes, but what you learn on the way down,” and Rachel couldn’t agree more.
When she isn’t practicing yoga Rachel enjoys running (yoga is great for runners), hiking with her dog Georgie, scuba-diving (although a fair weather diver these days!) and losing herself in a good book.
It’s currently looking dry with some sunshine on Sunday morning… but we know the UK weather can turn in the blink of an eye AND it’s been a bit unsettled of late.
Please remember to check in here after 8.30am on Sunday morning’s for either:
✅ Confirmation the session is running as planned, or
😢 notice of cancellation, for whatever reason.
We always try to run, even in light rain ☔️ ... See MoreSee Less
There are so many ideas about what yoga is. Depending on who you ask, those ideas can be completely different – sometimes even opposite!
The same is true of yoga classes and teachers. There are so many styles, approaches, and ways to practise, which is one of the wonderful things about yoga.
At Park Yoga, our approach is simple: it’s your practice.
Our instructors will guide you through a sequence of movements and postures, but every option is an invitation, not an instruction. You are always welcome to adapt, vary, rest, or simply observe.
Think of the poses we offer like suggestions on a menu. Take what appeals to you, leave what doesn’t. If you’re feeling energetic, you might choose to add a little spice. If you’re feeling tired, you might choose a lighter option.
We know that how you feel can change from week to week, day to day, and even moment to moment. Energy levels fluctuate, bodies feel different, and life has a way of influencing what we need from our practice.
That’s why we encourage you to tune in to yourself and choose what feels right for you in each moment.
There is no “perfect” pose. There is no hierarchy of postures. There is no prize for doing more.
Whether you’re completely new to yoga, returning after a break, managing an injury, looking for a gentle stretch, or seeking a challenge, you are welcome.
We welcome all ages, abilities, and experiences, and we encourage you to make the practice your own. 💚 ... See MoreSee Less
